Carnaval de Nice

The 2008 Carnaval de Nice theme is “King of Bats, Cats, Rats And Other Legendary Creatures.”

The Carnaval de Nice takes place each year in February / March in the southern French city of Nice. For two weeks the Carnaval de Nice attracts visitors from around the world to the Riviera for parades, fireworks, theater performances, live music, and DJ shows. Over a million people converge on Nice for the Carnaval de Nice to watch the flower parade and dance in the streets. Visitors can also enjoy watching the parade floats with their wacky large-headed papier mache characters. Most of the Carnaval de Nice festivities take place on the Promenade des Anglais, which runs along the waterfront.
Strasbourg Christmas Market

The Strasbourg Christmas Market is the oldest and most famous Christmas market in France. Located in the Alsatian city of Strasbourg, the Strasbourg Christmas Market is situated right in front of the beautiful Strasbourg Cathedral. Visitors can enjoy the Christmas shops, ice rink, artisan village with its 300 chalets, and beautiful light displays in the evening.

The Strasbourg Christmas Market runs from November 24-January 8.
