Visiting Africa

My wife and I recently visited took a safari in Rwanda to see the mountain gorillas. We did see the gorillas and they were quite amazing. Everyone at the lodge agreed it was the best wildlife encounter of their lives due to the close proximity from which we viewed these tranquil creatures. Although the rules require we stay 21 feet away, the distance was in fact only 5 feet at times! However I believe that my brother and I had a unique Rwanda experience in that for 5 days we were stayed and we were taken around by Alex Guma of African Jungle Adventure.

From the guided tour of Kigali, the two and half hour drive from the hotel in Kigali to Virunga National Park, morning drives to the trailhead, and the 2 1/2 hour ride back to Kigali. Alex provided in-depth and insightful analysis about Rwanda’s historical, political and economic past and present. If you are truly interested in Rwanda, as I was, Alex is the best driver/guide imaginable. He is also extremely helpful in case you need to find a particular type of store, visit a bank etc. I highly recommend Rwanda Primate Safari based upon our experience with Alex.

We used African Jungle Adventure during our five days Rwanda gorilla safari through the country also referred to as the land of a thousand hills. Alex our driver was excellent. He was professional, prompt, courteous, and very patient. Alex discussed historical events and he was very proud of the advancements that have been made in Rwanda. Alex was able to help obtain the gorilla groups that we wanted to visit and he helped us to understand the tipping process for guides / trekkers / and porters. As we were fit enough we opt for Susa the most adventurous group that every fear to take, my wife and I we are both young so taking this group was so adventurous and we left Africa amazed!

From our planning with Go Gorilla Trekking, we met at the airport with our guide Alex, a company representative who explained our itinerary etc., we found them to be extremely professional.

Our guide, Alex was very friendly, knowledgeable and hard working. We appreciated that he took the time to explain more Rwanda history to us so we could better understand what had happened there. We did a tour of Kigali, Rwanda gorilla trek and golden monkey trek and Alex took very good care of us. I would definitely recommend this company and suggest you request for Alex Guma as your guide.
